May 30th and 31st the grade 8 students traveled to Camp YoWoChAs, on the shore of Lake Wabamum, for their annual field trip. Despite some rain and cooler temperatures, students still had a great time and particpated several challenging but really fun activites. New on the schedule this year was shelter building, a team activity which took lots of creativity and "fort building" skills. The "swing by choice" high ropes activity involved being hoisted about 20 feet up in the air attached to a harness swing and released; an incredible rush to say the least! And when stormy weather made canoing to dangerous, students partipated in "bouldering"; a horizontal version of rock climbing which tested students strength, agility and overall "spidey senses"! Good job grade 8's on trying some new and challenging activities!
